Employability Work Pathway - Cafe Assistant
I work with Post-16 students at Blossom House School, a specialist independent day school for pupils with speech, language, and communication difficulties. Drawing on skills from my previous career as an Occupational Therapist, I support pupils build their confidence in basic business, life and social skills at the student-led cafe situated in the local community.
Author Visits, Speaker & Parent Educator
Since 2013 I have worked with schools, teachers, churches, parents and caregivers to support young children's emotional well-being.
I strongly believe what we say and how we say it matters - our words have the power to build up, or crush, our children's self-esteem, confidence and co-operation. Through my faith and parenting experience I created a framework, The Daesy Dialogue, which I use to guide my writing and workshops. My talking tool kit aims to support adults promote their children's emotional growth in a healthy way through compassion, connection and conversation.
I have parented two daughters into adulthood, had a previous career as an Occupational Therapist and run a Christian Playgroup for 16 years with a fantastic team of volunteers. Being immersed in the world of toddlers, pre-schoolers, teens and young adults, both in my home and work life, I've been able to come alongside all ages in a very personal and intimate way, meeting them where they are at and finding innovative and creative ways of boosting their emotional resilience and spiritual growth.

Gulu Mission Initiative
My husband and I are trustees for a Christian Charity, Gulu Mission Initiative (GMI). GMI works in education, social action, and community growth and the heart and passion of all our work is to serve the disadvantaged communities in Northern Uganda and transform lives to give them a hope and a future.
